Buenos Aires Argentina Shopping

Buenos Aires Argentina Shopping - Everything used to be very expensive in Buenos Aires and the prices used to rival even that of Paris. However, the revolution and the devaluation of the peso has worked to the advantage of tourists who now need to spend less for their hotel and well, shopping.

Buenos Aires is a shopping mecca that provides the comfort provided by the big malls as well as the exclusivity provided by the small boutiques that carry top of the line brands. One thing is sure though. Leather should be on top of your list when you go shopping here because Buenos Aires sells quality and reasonably-priced leather goods. There are lots of unique buys in Buenos Aires but many are fearful this leverage would be destroyed when China products (which are sold almost everywhere) enter the market as the new trade agreement takes effect.

Antique collectors should visit the San Telmo District. Get one of those Golden maps in your hotel as it contains a list of various shopping stores. Ask about tax-free shopping privileges but if you want to be sure, check out shops with blue and white logos.

If you want to be able to walk from one store to another then Microcentro is the best place to be. There are good choices of leather goods among the stores located between Calle Florida and Plaza San Martin. For more shopping choices, go to the Galerias Pacifico Mall at Avenida Cordoba as it has over 180 boutiques and stores selling different items.

If you are looking for a good bargain then go to Avenida Santa Fe for a mixture of clothing shops, bookshops and cafes. You can even watch a movie here to while away the time. Designer clothing can be found along Palermo Viejo and Avenida Alvear in Recoleta which is known as Argentina’s own version of Champs-Elysees.
